This teapot was made in Yixing, China, which has a reputation for producing exquisite teapots since the Ming Dynasty (1368-1633 CE). Every teapot bears a chop mark representing the signature of the artist. The clay used to produce the teapots in that region will patinae with use. Designer Chongbin Zheng employs the clay and potters in the Yixing region to create his teapots.
