 | | May 24, 2011 | One More Time : Little Clock (blue anodized aluminum) designer: Joost van Bleiswijk design year: 2011
notes: This clock is constructed of precisely cut, slotted and interlocked segments of aluminum; the works are constructed without the use of any joinery, such as screws or glue. Joost van Bleiswijk (born in Delft, 1976) graduated from the renowned Design Academy Eindhoven in 2001. His construction methods also serve as the dogma for his designs, as is evident in his 'No Screw, No Glue' collection (2002-2007), the 'Corroded' collection (2009-2010), and the 'One More Time' collection (2011). The forms are intentionally iconic, drawing from hundreds of years of Dutch design and culture. Van Bleiswijk is frequently invited to lecture at schools and public forums for design, and he has also taught at the Design Academy Eindhoven. His work has been featured in numerous exhibitions worldwide; his work was most recently featured in a solo exhibition presented by the Zuiderzee Museum during the 2010 Salone del Mobile, Milan, and a solo exhibition of work in Murano glass at Sothebys in London in 2010. Van Bleiswijk lives and works in Eindhoven.
